Leanne Marshall Project Runway
In Episode 2 of Project Runway, “The Grass Is Always Greener,” Marshall and Wesley Nault were the bottom two design contestants. Marshall was one of the top three design contestants on “Bright Lights, Big City” in Episode 3. She maintained a good stride throughout the rest of the competition, consecutively winning two challenges: “Fashion that Drives You” and “Double 0 Fashion”.
Marshall was chosen as one of the top three design contestants and created a collection inspired by waves for the final competition. Her collection was judged against Collins’ collections, which included some of Collins’ hand-painted fabrics and hints of African inspiration. Leanne Marshall’s feminine waves wowed the judges, and she went on to win Season 5.

Marshall launched her career in runway fashion in 2006 and 2007 during Portland Fashion Week in Portland, Oregon. Leanne’s popularity and sales increased as a result of her hard work developing the line over the course of a year and a half. She was able to quit her lucrative job in the middle of 2007 and start designing her own label full-time.
Leanne was chosen to compete in Season 5 of Project Runway in 2008. She made it to the end, where she showed her wave-inspired collection in turquoise, ivory, and sand colors. She was delegated the victor. In July 2009, Marshall launched an eco-friendly line for bluefly.com. She also created Heidi Klum’s maternity dress at the same time.
