Gorgi Coghlan Biography

Gorgi Coghlan is a television presenter and performer of Australian  nationality who is known for co-hosting Network Ten’s Logie Award-winning The Circle and appearing on The Project on a regular basis.

She attended St Ann’s Ladies College and Emmanuel College in Warrnambool and is a former State level equestrian competitor in eventing and dressage. Coghlan also holds a Graduate Diploma in Secondary Education with a specialization in Biology and Science, as well as a Bachelor of Science, and has taught at McKinnon Secondary College.

Coghlan formerly worked as a reporter and travel presenter for Today and National Nine News on the Nine Network before joining Network Ten. Coghlan worked at Channel 31 in Melbourne on the news and current affairs show C News, where she delivered the news and reported.

She was also the Melbourne reporter for National Nine News Early Edition and a reporter for National Nine News in Melbourne during her time at the Nine Network. She has also filled in for Steven Jacobs on Today, providing the weather. In December 2008, she resigned from Today. Coghlan was named co-host of Network Ten’s new morning show The Circle in 2010, alongside Denise Drysdale, Yumi Stynes, and Chrissie Swan. Coghlan also fills in for Carrie Bickmore on The Project. While Coghlan was on maternity leave, Colin Lane took her place on The Circle. She also appeared weekly on 3AW’s “Afternoons with Denis Walter” as a social commentator.

Coghlan is a skilled professional vocalist who has appeared in various professional musicals and broadcast concerts in addition to her teaching and television roles. She has appeared in the long-running Queen musical “We Will Rock You”, “Carols By Candlelight” (2006, 2007, and 2008), and the Nine Network’s The Singing Bee and ABBAMANIA. She published a solo album, Edward, on CD (Sound Vault Records, SV0535) as Gorgi Quill, which was dedicated to her late grandfather, who encouraged her love of singing and music.
