Gal Gadot Biography
Gal Gadot is an Israeli model and actress. She was crowned Miss Israel 2004 and competed in the 2004 Miss Universe pageant.
Growing up in Israel, she learned and danced jazz and hip-hop for 12 years, and her first occupations were babysitting and working at a local Burger King. She graduated from Rosh HaAyin’s Begin High School, where she majored in biology. Gadot traveled to Poland to get firsthand knowledge of two Nazi concentration camps: Auschwitz and Majdanek, as Jewish high schools in Israel frequently accompany their sophomores on excursions to Holocaust memorial sites.
Gal Gadot Husband
Gadot married Israeli real estate developer Jaron “Yaron” Varsano in 2008. They have three children, born in 2011, 2017, and 2021, in that order. Pilot Wave, a film and television production company, was created by the two in 2019. Gadot and Varsano co-owned a boutique hotel in Tel Aviv, Israel, which she assisted in running and ultimately sold to Roman Abramovich for $26 million in 2015.
Gal Gadot Family (Parents and Siblings)
She was later nurtured in the city of Rosh HaAyin. Her given name means “wave” in Hebrew, and her surname means “riverbanks” in Hebrew. Her parents’ surname had been changed from “Greenstein” to “Gadot” before she was born. Her father, Michael Gadot, is an engineer, and her mother, Irit (née Weiss), is a physical education teacher. Gadot’s younger sister is Dana. Gadot’s father is a sixth-generation member of the Sabra family. Her maternal ancestors were both born in twentieth-century Europe; her grandfather survived the Holocaust after being imprisoned at the Auschwitz concentration camp during Nazi Germany’s takeover of Czechoslovakia, while her grandmother managed to evacuate the continent before World War II began.
Gal Gadot Height
She has an estimated net worth of 5 feet 10 inches (1.78 m).
Gal Gadot Fast & Furious
The casting director chose Gadot over six other actresses from her Quantum of Solace audition for the role of Gisele Yashar in the action film Fast & Furious 4, the fourth film in the Fast & Furious franchise. In those flicks, Gadot did some of her own stunt work.
She appeared in the action comedy Date Night and the action-adventure comedy Knight and Day in 2010. She returned to the Fast & Furious franchise in 2011, resuming her role as Gisele in Fast Five; she reprised the role in Fast & Furious 6 in 2013.
Gal Gadot Wonder Woman
Gadot starred as Wonder Woman in the 2016 superhero film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. In preparation for the part, Gadot studied swordsmanship, Kung Fu, kickboxing, capoeira, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. She was almost cast as Faora-Ul in Man of Steel, but she declined since she was pregnant. Instead, Antje Traue was cast. Gadot’s performance as the superhero, which marked the character’s debut film appearance, was cited as one of the film’s highlights.
Gadot, Wonder Woman co-star Lynda Carter, DC Entertainment President Diane Nelson, Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins, and United Nations Under-Secretary-General Cristina Gallach appeared at the United Nations on October 21, 2016, the 75th anniversary of Wonder Woman’s first appearance, to mark the character’s designation as the UN’s “Honorary Ambassador for the Empowerment of Women and Girls.” The gesture was intended to promote awareness of UN SDG No. 5, which aims to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls by 2030. The decision sparked outrage among UN employees, who complained in a petition to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon that the figure is “not culturally encompassing or sensitive” and serves to objectify women. As a result, the character was stripped of the title, and the project came to an end on December 16th.
She also appeared in John Hillcoat’s criminal thriller Triple 9, alongside Kate Winslet and Aaron Paul, in 2016. Later same year, she co-starred as the wife of Ryan Reynolds’ character in the action crime thriller Criminal, opposite Kevin Costner, Gary Oldman, and Tommy Lee Jones. Her final film of 2016 was the action comedy Keeping Up with the Joneses, in which she co-starred with Zach Galifianakis, Jon Hamm, and Isla Fisher as a secret spy. Gadot starred in Wonder Woman, a standalone film, in 2017.
