Fortune Feimster is an actor, comedian, and writer from the United States. She debuted as Colette on The Mindy Project and made her television debut on NBC’s Last Comic Standing in 2010. She was the host of the first live shows on the Sirius XM channel, Netflix is a Joke, in 2019—What a Joke with Papa and Fortune with Tom Papa. In The L Word: Generation Q, she also portrayed Heather.

She studied in communications, played tennis and soccer, and was voted president of the student body at Peace College, which was then exclusively for women. She was the student speaker at commencement in 2002 and received a summa cum laude degree. After the graduation, Feimster got to know actress Emily Procter, who was born in Raleigh, and she spoke at the ceremony.

She spent a year in Spain before relocating to Los Angeles in 2003 to work as Procter’s personal assistant and pursue a career in comedy. Feimster began a seven-year career in entertainment journalism after establishing a connection with Procter’s neighbor, a reporter for the Los Angeles Daily News. She started learning sketch comedy and improv at The Groundlings Theatre in 2005. She was chosen to join the Sunday Company of the Groundlings after four years.
