Sacca studied at Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service in Washington, D.C. Lowercase Capital LLC was created in 2010 in Truckee, California, when Sacca completed his Lowercase Ventures Fund I, a $8.4 million venture fund including investments in Uber, Docker, Optimizely, StyleSeat, Instagram, and Twitter. He also owns other non-tech firms, such as Blue Bottle Coffee Company and a high-end restaurant in Truckee. On a personal level, Sacca became very involved in his portfolio firms, attending meetings at Twitter and Uber and negotiating the rights for Uber.com from Universal Music Group when the company changed its name from Uber Taxi. Throughout 2009, he made investments in companies like Kickstarter, Twilio, and Lookout.
