Evans’ first studio album, Even More, was released on June 8, 2004, under the Epic Records label. On March 7, 2006, the second studio album, Letting Go with Integrity Music, was released. On June 10, 2008, his third studio album, named The Bridge, was released under the EMI Gospel label.
What Christmas Means, Evans’ first holiday album with INO, was released on October 2, 2009. Undisguised, Evans’ fourth studio album, was released on January 26, 2010, via INO Records, which subsequently changed its name to Fair Trade Services. On November 15, 2011, Evans’ fifth studio album, “Home through Fair Trade Services,” was released.
Evans had an appearance on NBC’s The Voice’s second season. He performed Marvin Gaye’s “What is Going On” during the blind audition televised on February 20, 2012. Adam Levine, CeeLo Green, and Blake Shelton did not turn their chairs during the blind audition; only Christina Aguilera did.
By default, he was placed on Team Aguilera and faced off against Jesse Campbell, another Aguilera competitor, in the Battles round. They both sang “If I Am not Got You” by Alicia Keys during a March 5 program, with Aguilera choosing to keep Campbell following a heated musical altercation. Evans was removed from the show since it had not yet implemented the “steal option” for other judges.
On April 8, 2014, Evans’ sixth studio album, Real Life/Real Worship with Fair Trade Services, was released following The Voice. It turned out to be his most successful album release in terms of sales. The album was the 60th best-selling album in the United States according to the Billboard Hot 200 during the week of April 26, 2014. In the same week, the album also peaked at number four on the Top Christian Album chart. The album also peaked at number two on the Top Gospel Albums chart, which tracks the best-selling albums.
