Labes S.H.I.E.L.D
In the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode Aftershocks, Labes played Young Gordon. Gordon was Jiaying’s right-hand guy and an inhuman. He was involved in the defense and movement of the Inhuman populace within and outside of Afterlife, their town. He joined Jiaying in his scheme to deceive their own people into launching an attack on S.H.I.E.L.D. and perished in combat alongside Leo Fitz, Alphonso Mackenzie, and Phil Coulson. As a young man, Gordon took pride in his appearance and blue eyes. However, since he was taken to the Afterlife as a child, he had been mentally prepared to endure a transformation that would give him powers and alter him in an unanticipated way.
Gordon, devoid of his eyes and gifted with teleportation skills, came out of Terrigenesis bewildered and terrified. Gordon was in the room when Jiaying and Yat-Sen entered; Jiaying instructed Gordon to follow her voice. Gordon finally made it to Jiaying and gave her a hug after making numerous tries to get close to her due to his uncontrollable power. She said he could cry; he couldn’t if he didn’t have eyes. As soon as Jiaying left the room, Gordon sat silently and ate.
Eva Belyakov disobeyed Jiaying’s orders and stole multiple Terrigen Crystals to give her daughter the powers she believed she earned after learning that Katya would not be permitted to pass through the Terrigen Mist. Soon after, the two ran into S.H.I.E.L.D. and fought to the death in Manama. After arriving in Bahrain, Gordon and Jiaying observed the fallout from Belyakov and her daughter’s deaths. As Melinda May, the person who killed Katya, was consoled by her friends and allies, they also witnessed the impact the incident had on her.
Eventually, Gordon was appointed to serve as the conduit between the Afterlife and the material world. Prospective Inhumans simply knew that Gordon was the doorway through his power; they had no idea where Afterlife was. He would get supplies from outside for them if they choose to live there; if they decided not to, the location of Afterlife’s secret was safe. Gordon would go out of the community on Wednesdays and bring pizza from Chicago to everyone. Gordon watched Lincoln Campbell for a while, seeing how he would argue with his girlfriend over drinking. The two were together when they went into a phone pole one evening; Gordon saved them both by taking them to Afterlife so they could receive medical care. As an Inhuman, Gordon invited Campbell to stay; in exchange, Campbell’s lover was sent back out into the world.
