Being a sculptor, Mara’s mother pushed her to study all kinds of art. When Mara was sixteen years old, she obtained her GED and left high school to attend Marinello School of Beauty, which she funded by working at Starbucks. Mara was fortunate to have their single mother, whose business drive and experience as a stone sculptor later influenced Mara’s creativity and sculptural approach to hair styling, even though her academically inclined older sister objected.

It might be somewhat intimidating to take the risk and buy your first house. Mara completed her homework and searched for the ideal location for several years without success. She instructed her broker to submit a backup bid when she located her present house, and then she never heard from her agent again, telling her that the first offer had fallen through and the house was now hers!
Mara met Alex, the love of her life, not long after buying the house. Since he would also be residing there, she wished for Alex’s approval of her new residence. Fortunately, their tastes in design are comparable, so they got along well when it came time to refurbish. They were also extremely fortunate to have Richard Pier of Team Archers in Los Angeles, a close friend and interior designer, assist them.
The style is a fusion of French country, classic Italian, and industrial mid-century design. The house is a source of inspiration in and of itself. We added elements from different shops, hotels, and residences we visited, but we sought to keep the house’s original, 1920s vibe intact.

The brand’s flagship product, the Santa Lucia Styling Oil, was created with the help of the aforementioned celebrities as test subjects. “Brooklyn Decker refers to it as her new low maintenance essential and claims that it completely changed the texture of her hair, and Olivia Wilde adores it and uses it every day for her flawless, everyday air-dry,” says Roszak. The oil, an award-winning botanical elixir that nourishes strands and doubles as a multipurpose style product, was created with great care to restore the hair’s natural beauty and health. Although most oils tend to be heavy on hair, our hair loves wetness. In particular, fine hair,” says Roszak. “The Santa Lucia Styling Oil is more adaptable to a variety of hair types and textures because it was specifically designed to be lighter in weight.”
Designed to be the go-to product for flawless, frizz-free air-dried waves, styling oil serves as the foundation for any style process and an everyday staple.
