The Smithsonian American Art Museum (often known as SAAM, and originally the National Museum of American Art) is a Smithsonian Institution museum in Washington, D.C. SAAM, together with its sister museum, the Renwick Gallery, houses one of the world’s greatest and most diverse collections of American art from the colonial period to the present.
