Plot
Being unusual is popular at Hester High School in Austin’s outskirts. Karma Ashcroft and her best friend Amy Raudenfeld are invited to a house party thrown by popular gay student Shane Harvey, who believes the two are a lesbian pair after numerous failed attempts to stand out.
They are later outed as the school’s first lesbian couple at the party and unwittingly nominated for homecoming Queens. As their fame grows, Karma gets the attention of the popular and handsome Liam Booker, while Amy becomes aware of her growing romantic feelings for Karma and a rivalry with her new step-sister, Lauren, who learns the ruse.

Plot
Compton, California, becomes a chaotic dystopia in 1986 as a result of street gangs, drug traffickers, and police brutality. N.W.A is formed by Dr. Dre, a struggling rapper, and Ice Cube, a high school senior. Ruthless Records is formed, and their song “Boyz-n-the-Hood” becomes a local hit. Jerry Heller manages them, and Priority Records co-runs them.
During their debut album, Straight Outta Compton, they experience police harassment because of their race and looks. Cube creates a diss single called “Fuck tha Police” against the police, which Heller allows. Because of its explicit lyrics, the album becomes controversial, and the group’s style is nicknamed gangsta rap.

Plot
After twenty years of formation, separations, and separate ventures, New Edition, led by Brook Payne, returns on tour in 1997. The group’s divides remain, and Brown’s selfish and unpredictable actions led to his suspension. DeVoe and Brown both have their own set, but Brown’s selfishness and erratic behavior lead to a fight with DeVoe. The members of the group and their entourages are embroiled in a chaotic altercation that ends with a gunshot. According to Payne’s narration, the group’s founders, New Edition, were motivated by selfishness, pride, and money, which led to their demise.
