McKenna frequently works with Zach Reino, a UCB alumni. McKenna and Reino collaborated on musical sketches for Nickelodeon, BuzzFeed, and Funny or Die. McKenna and Reino co-wrote and co-starred in Serious Music, an ABC web series, in 2016. In 2021, the two collaborated on a “The Official Cast Recording” episode of the Dropout series Game Changer, wherein Zeke Nicholson and the other cast member spontaneously composed a little musical number in response to commands from host Sam Reich. The next year, Dropout turned this into a full-length series called Play It By Ear.

McKenna is a voice actress in addition. McKenna provides the voice of Lennon, the main character on Amazon’s Little Big Awesome. Originally, McKenna was supposed to voice Billy Dilley’s Super-Duper Subterranean Summer’s main character; however, creator Aaron Springer ended up taking on that role.

For her work on the television series Baking It, McKenna, Neil Casey, Zach Reino, and Niccole Thurman were awarded the Writers Guild of America Award in the area of “Quiz and Audience Participation” in 2022. She and the other Baking It writers were nominated for the same prize again in 2023.
