Hamish Blake is an Australian comedian, radio and television host, actor, and author. He has been playing live and on television and radio with Andy Lee since 2003. Blake has also been on a number of Australian television shows, including the 2008 Great Debate, and is a regular on Spicks & Specks, Rove, and Thank God You’re Here.
He went to Glen Waverley South elementary School for elementary school, Caulfield Grammar School for high school, and St Leonard’s College for college, where he graduated in 1999. Blake enrolled in a Science/Commerce double degree program at the University of Melbourne. Lake eventually dropped out of university to pursue a comedic career with Lee.

Andy entered Hamish in the Mr. New York State bodybuilding competition in the Heavyweight division as part of a stunt for the TV show Hamish and Andy’s Gap Year. Blake was given the title of Mr. New York State 2011 in the Heavyweight division due to a technicality in which he was the only participant weighing more than 200 pounds (the minimum threshold for a Heavyweight contender).

Blake and Andy Lee have been working together since 2003 when they debuted at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Later, they trained with SYN Radio and developed Radio Karate for RMITV on Channel 31, which received an Antenna Award for outstanding comedic program at the 2004 National Community Television Awards.
The Hamish and Andy Show debuted on the Seven Network in March 2005 but was terminated two weeks later. Following the termination of the show, they made The Greystone 2800, a short mockumentary that won the Melbourne Comedy Festival Short Film category and drew the attention of comic Rove McManus. This resulted in a few brief appearances on McManus’ Network Ten show Rove Live.
In 2006, the team also contributed to the creation of Real Stories, a spoof current events show on Network Ten. With help from Ryan Shelton and Tim Bartley, they wrote, acted, directed, filmed, and produced the show. They began a nationwide drive-time radio show named Hamish & Andy on the Today Network in 2006, and it soon became popular, ranking first in four of Australia’s five major capital cities as of August 2008. The show is broadcast in all of the country’s capital cities as well as several provincial areas.
They made a cameo appearance on Ten’s Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader? in September 2008. and appeared as a guest on the Australian soap show Neighbours. On November 19, 2008, Hamish and Andy aired their own one-time episode, Hamish & Andy Re-Gifted: A Very Early Christmas Special, presented to you by Rove. They’ve also been on Good News Week and The 7PM Project on Channel Ten.
