In addition to being a grandfather to Dorien, Daniel is also a father to Joey and Dwaine, who have three children together. He was the sixth child in a family of six who is well-known for their work in the region’s seafood industry.

Juanita Thomas Broussard was his first wife. The couple married on an unknown date and had two sons, Joey Edgar, and Dwaine Edgar. Both boys are now adults and married. Joey, like his first marriage, was unable to devote sufficient time to his second marriage. Mandy was unable to see beyond it and ended the marriage. Daniel Edga Swamp People
Daniel was one of the people sought after by showrunners when Swamp People premiered in 2010. However, Daniel continued to decline their offer. However, when management changed hands in 2016, veteran Swamper Troy Landry was dispatched to persuade Daniel, who agreed to work on the series. Not only did Daniel bring in his two sons, Joey and Dorian Edgar, to assist him with the gator hunt.
Daniel has since established himself as one of the show’s regular cast members. Season 14 of the reality series premiered on January 5, 2023, with Daniel Edgar returning as a cast member. Daniel raids the swamps for fish, shrimp, crabs, and crawfish when he is not hunting gators.

Edgar works in the seafood industry and has lived by the swamp his entire life. He owns St. Mary’s Seafood Incorporated and Louisiana Baits Company, both of which deal with seafood.
