Costa Georgiadis Gardening Australia

Gardening Australia is hosted by Georgiadis. Gardening Australia is a lifestyle television program in Australia that advises and supports organic and environmentally friendly gardening methods. It was established by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and will air on ABC TV every Friday evening beginning in 2021. The show inspired the production of a monthly magazine, Gardening Australia.

It began in 1969 as It’s Growing, with five-minute portions carried before the Sunday night news on ABT2 in Hobart. It was hosted by Peter Cundall, an expert gardener who is passionate about growing plants organically. Since 1967, he had conducted a gardening talkback feature on ABC radio in Hobart. Landscape was rebranded and expanded to 15 minutes per episode in 1972.

Gardening Australia adapted the format in 1990, broadcasting nationally with the format enlarged to 30 minutes per episode. Cundall, together with other gardening professionals from around Australia, continued to host the event. Stephen Ryan took over for Cundall in 2009. ABC did not renew Ryan’s contract after three years as host. Costa Georgiadis was confirmed as the new host for the 2012 series in December 2011.

Costa Georgiadis Career

His grandfather’s market garden was not the sole source of his fascination with nature. He visited Greece for around 8 weeks when he was 15 and was grateful to his parents for allowing him to learn Greek. Costa started his communal verge garden on his Bondi street. The verge currently houses a street library, a compost system, a bathtub worm farm, and indigenous plants and vegetables.

He filled in as a gardener while concentrating on scene engineering at College of New South Grains, where he fostered an interest in maintainability. From 2009 to 2011, he introduced SBS’s Costa’s Nursery Odyssey, a program that investigated the connection between planting, supportability, and otherworldliness. On 20 December 2011 the ABC reported that Georgiadis would supplant Stephen Ryan as the host of Cultivating Australia.

In 2014, Georgiadis featured as ‘Costa the Nursery Little person’ in Get Dirty television on ABC Children. For his facilitating job on Cultivating Australia, Georgiadis won the Silver Logie for Most Well known Moderator and was assigned for the Gold Logie for Most Famous Character on Australian TV at the 2019 Logie Grants.
