Carter Andrews is an American TV fishing personality known for being the host and navigator of “Legendary Catch,” a new adventure program that explores the people, places, and great fish legends of the world on NatGeo. Carter, a lifelong fisherman, began his professional fishing career as a fly fishing guide in Jackson in the late 1980s.

When Carter was younger, he made a lot of money selling insurance in Washington, D.C., but on a random trip to Wyoming, someone told him about a job selling insurance there. The fascination was a moment since Carter was at that point fixated on fishing since his life as a youngster day in Tennessee. He went to the potential employer and talked to them, and they gave him the job right away. He was on his way to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, to sell insurance when he rushed home, gave notice, and packed everything up.
He felt right at home now that he was in the heart of the fly-fishing country. He was given the opportunity to work as a guide by Jack Dennis, who appreciated his work ethic and humble demeanor. He chose to dive in and quit his place of employment to pursue his affection for fishing. Carter’s father, who came from a corporate background, told him it was a terrible mistake, but now he is his biggest fan.
He was guided in this well-known fishing spot, where he got to know many of the best anglers in the business and the many “famous” anglers who went there often. Carter’s reputation started to improve as a result of his hard work and dedication. He fell in love with saltwater fly fishing the moment he was introduced to it. That before long prompted a fifteen-year vocation fishing in Screwy Island, Bahamas.
Carter admits that at first, he didn’t know much about saltwater fishing, but because the fishing was so good in places as remote as this, learning curves were short. He met Jose Wejebe, a well-known TV fishing host for the Spanish Fly and an all-around good fisherman, at this location. They quickly developed a friendship after he took Jose fishing. Carter received a package containing a livewell and a cast net shortly after Jose’s visit. Carter had heard Jose talk about the potential of pilchards, and now there was a net to catch them. Because he had no idea how to throw a net, Carter appreciated the present but put it aside.
However, one day he encountered a massive school of the tiny fish Jose had described. He learned how to throw the net, rigged the well, and rushed back to fill the well with “nature’s candy” for fish in an excited panic. He anchored over the same patch reefs where he usually fished, but as soon as he grabbed a few live chums, he saw a flurry of mutton snapper bursting into the water. Inshore reef fishing with baits entered a new era at that point. He couldn’t wait to call Jose and tell him what had happened.
Carter then stumbled upon a fantastic wahoo fishery by accident, just offshore of where he had spent so many hours reef fishing. He started having days with multiple wahoos that weighed more than 100 pounds each. The “trollers” became aware of this, and they began coming in with fresh strategies and concepts. Black Bart, a well-known lure maker and marlin fisherman, came to town one day to hunt wahoo. They released three over-100-pound wahoos in a single day.
Carter took a position as director of the fishing program on the Islas Secas Islands in Panama as his career progressed. Carter has thrived in these abundant waters and guarantees his guests a trip of a lifetime. He has gathered the best of the current gear and carried it to a far-off region where the fishing is as yet crude in its overflow. Carter maintains this position throughout the six-month fishing season and is currently using the downtime during the off-season to pursue a different dream.
Carter discovered that one of the things he enjoyed most about fishing was the opportunity to share it with others as he traveled the world in search of the jobs of his dreams. He had been on television with Jose and numerous others previously and presently wished to share his enthusiasm, or better expressed his fixation on others.
