Since his first day at FOX News, Melugin has been at the vanguard of covering migrant crossings from the southern border, spending around half of his time there annually. Most recently, Melugin provided commentary on the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect J.D. Vance live from Washington, D.C. on Inauguration Day 2025. Additionally, Melugin helped with the ongoing breaking news coverage of the January 2025 California wildfire disaster.
Melugin also helped with the thorough coverage of the Republican National Convention in 2024. He previously provided live reporting and analysis throughout the caucus and the days preceding it from the ground in Iowa. Melugin provided live coverage of the Robb Elementary School mass shooting in May 2022 from Uvalde, Texas, which claimed the lives of 19 children and two adults.
