Bethenny Frankel is a businesswoman, television personality, entrepreneur, and author from the United States. She appeared in eight of the thirteen seasons of the Bravo television series The Real Housewives of New York City from its debut in 2008. Skinnygirl, her lifestyle brand, was created in 2009.
Frankel stated that she had moved several times and attended several schools before attending boarding school. As a child, Frankel attended Catholic schools and graduated in 1988 from Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she lived on campus. Frankel is the creator of the disaster assistance charity BStrong. In 2017, the group received $300,000 in donations and supplies for Hurricane Harvey victims, and Frankel traveled to Houston, Texas to distribute these items. Following the Puebla earthquake, Frankel traveled to Mexico City and Jojutla, Mexico to raise awareness for the disaster’s recovery efforts, for which BStrong also raised $150,000. In the same year, Frankel chartered four flights to Puerto Rico to aid with Hurricane Maria relief efforts, distributing medical supplies, food, water, and hygiene products.
In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, BStrong gathered funds and supplied personal protective equipment to hospitals across the United States, including masks, goggles, gowns, and sheets. BStrong began fundraising in February 2022 to aid Ukrainians following the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022. BStrong had raised $25 million by March 5, 2022, with Frankel stating that “$10 million has been allocated to help relocate refugees, while another $15 million has been earmarked for distribution within Ukraine.” BStrong has currently raised more than $125 million for the Ukraine crisis.
