Biography

Alex Kendrick is an American pastor, film writer, producer, director, and actor best known for his work on faith-based films such as Facing the Giants, War Room, Overcomer, Courageous, and Fireproof.

He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Kennesaw State University. Before completing New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and being called into the ministry, Kendrick worked as a Christian DJ for two radio stations. For four years, he worked as a college minister in Marietta, Georgia.

In October 2011, the novel Gutsy was recorded on The New York Times Success list, alongside his book The Goal for Men, which was composed with his sibling, Stephen. The Love Dare for Parents, which the brothers published in 2013, went on to become a CBA Best Seller. The Battle Plan for Prayer, which Kendrick co-authored with his brother, re-entered the New York Times Best Seller List in 2015.
